Moss Removal
Areas with excessive build-up of moss would be scraped either manually or with engine-driven power sweeping, followed by backpack blowers to clear the areas. As moss is biodegradable, it can be dispensed into adjacent verges and beds to naturally degrade. On lighter covered areas, we use power washes and biocides for maximum effect.
We can dispatch a team within 24 hours or as part of a planned maintenance programme. We will travel nationwide for the right job. As moss is a living plant and can grow in damp and shady areas, periodic treatment is important.
More on Moss Removal & Roof Cleaning
Our moss removal service has been used on many commercial sites to improve their exterior appearance and remove the plants and growths that can develop quickly in dark and damp areas.
We use advanced moss removal machinery as an alternative to high-pressure water jetting, which can cause erosion on some of the more delicate surfaces.
The powered wire brush will remove thick moss and light weeds from any hard surface by using a clockwise and anticlockwise rotation, allowing the brush to get into cracks and crevasses where the moss resides, but without the use of harsh chemicals. This service is ideal for areas that have no drainage, and therefore, water would not be suitable.
Areas open to the public should be kept safe and clean for maximum enjoyment. At CAD, we pride ourselves on providing a next-to-none moss removal and roof cleaning service.
You would usually find moss build-up in areas that are shaded from the sun, i.e, north-facing or covered by trees and foliage. A common problem where moss can be most prevalent is fire escape routes. Fire escape routes need to be kept clear, but are usually overlooked, causing safety issues.
Moss is most commonly found on sidewalks, car parks, hard-to-get-to areas on commercial sites, and roofs, especially in the UK climate and during temperature changes.
Neglecting Moss Removal is a Safety Hazard
Moss grows in damp, shady areas. It does not have roots and reproduces via spores, which means it can grow easily on car parks and walkways, creating a trip and slip hazard due to its gel-like surface, which retains moisture.
